#MixedAndReady

This one time Canadian Club hooked me up so hard. They got me and my friend Danielle on an airplane and next thing you know we were in Calgary, celebrating the last weekend of summer at X-Fest. Cold War Kids? Check. Weezer? Check. Blink-182? Check check check.

Good tunes. Good times. Dusty times. Drinking times too. And what to drink? Rye gingers all mixed and ready. Tall boys but not beer. CC and ginger-ale baby.  Get into it. We sure did.

Shout outs and much love to the babe known as Kimlee at CalgaryFashion.ca who showed us the very best of times and all the city has to offer.

music video of the day: "DIP" by Danny Brown

Dude digs Arcade Fire, is inspired by Joy Division and totally has Beach House on his iPod. Dude also made it across the border & just showed Toronto what's up with Action Bronson.
Dude is Danny Brown.
His new record OLD comes out October 8th.

ps. Check out this video I took last year of Action Bronson's NXNE show at the Drake Underground . Some real down crowd work.

pps. Here's me and the homie chillin in Chicago at Pitchfork Festival 2012.

music video of the (yester)day: "Here Comes The Night Time" by Arcade Fire

Saturday night Arcade Fire were on SNL and it was awesome, but you what's even better? The 30 minute concert special NBC aired after directed by Roman Coppola. Not only does it feature new songs off of their upcoming album Reflektor, there's also cameos by James Franco, Rainn Wilson, Bono, Ben Stiller, Michael Cera, Bill Hader, Zach Galifianakis, Eric Wareheim, Jason Schwartzman, and Aziz Ansari. Holy shit right? Yeah. It's just incredible. Very very envious of everyone who made it in to this show. My goodness. Sorry don't mind me just in an Arcade Fire daze. So good. I'm so excited for this record. Can you tell?

music video of the day: "Chamakay" by Blood Orange ft. Caroline Polachek

Because Dev Hynes is too cool. Because Caroline Polachek of Chairlift sings on the track. Because Adam Bainbridge of Kindness directs. Because the video tells the story of Dev visiting his mother’s Guyanese hometown for the first time, and meeting his grandfather. Because it'll both turn you to mush and make you dance. Good combo.
