Music Video Of The Day

music video of the day: "Dependent" by Light Fires with Owen Pallett

in
REGINA KNOWS WHAT YOU WANT. WITH THE VOICE OF A SHADY ANGEL AND A BODY MADE FOR BREAKING HEARTS, SHE DELIVERS ANTHEMS FROM THE ALLEYWAYS, AND SETS THE NIGHTS ABLAZE. WITH ELECTRONIC RHYTHMS FROM JAMES, SHE SKEWERS THE ROOM WITH HER SHARP HEELS. REGINA IS LIGHT FIRES, AND LIGHT FIRES IS WHAT YOU'VE BEEN MISSING IN YOUR LIFE.

Such a great bio right? I can't decide who I like better, Regina or Gentleman Reg. Good thing they're the same person. And Owen Pallett?! Ugh it's just too good.

Check out the debut Light Fires album FACE on bandcamp & my NXNE interview with Reg.

music video of the day: "The Wire" by HAIM

in

Back when I saw HAIM at SXSW in March they played a small little day show, and it was super killer. Now they're ripping up Glastonbury and featuring the most attractive member of the Lonely Island (and sometimes Girls cast member) Jorma Taccone in their video. There's no doubt that HAIM are blowing up.  Even White Lung's punk front-babe Mish Way called them the "Kardashians of modern rock". Their debut album Days Are Gone is out September 30.  Get ready. I have a feeling that it's gonna be huge.

music video of the day: "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?" by Arctic Monkeys

in

I used to be waaaaay into the Arctic Monkeys and then somewhere around Humbug they lost me. Then Suck It and See happened a bit of my faith was restored. Now their fifth album AM is due out September 10 and this video has me stoked. Bring it boys.

music video of the day: "Hopeless Wanderer" by Mumford & Sons

That being said? Check out my blog this week for post Osheaga coverage + photos.

music video of the day: "I Feel Better" by Hot Chip

Any excuse I have to post this fantastically weird and amazing video I'll take. Hot Chip closed off the last night of Osheaga and it was just such a rad dance party. Already aching to be back.

music video of the day: "Where It's At" by Beck

Two turntables and a microphone. Tonight my favourite loser plays Osheaga.

The Lambeth London locals and garage rock darlings are set to kick Osheaga's first night into full on fest mode tonight. It's also suppose to rain, so this seems fitting.

music video of the day: “Everybody’s Something” by Chance The Rapper

in

You better have #AcidRap downloaded by now.

music video of the day: "Young Blood" by Mac DeMarco

in

Mac DeMarco dude. You can't help but love the kid. I've seen him live many a time & the sets just get sillier & sillier. He's totally tubular. Also how cute are he and his gf Kiki? Lucky lass.

This song is just one of the many amazing Adult Swim Summer Singles. The Kitty Pryde track and the Dan Deacon track are two of my favs. Actually, they're all pretty great.

Want more Mac? Jurassic Pop just put out a live cassette tape which already has sold out. Lucky for you the internet let's us stream it below. Feel free to look at my photos of his CMJ set at the same time, for the full "live" experience. You can also check out my CMJ/NXNE interview with Mac DeMarco if you want to hear him talk about diarrhoea and crazy meats.
