Music Video Of The Day

music video of the day: "All Night" by Michaeal Imperial

Shot in Vietnam―a place that has fascinated Michael both in cuisine and martial art forms―the video shadows the tale of a young Vietnamese boy whose nightly activity ranges from criminal to sexual.

Toronto based production house Revolver Films put together this rad piece to accompany the sick track that Michael Imperial made in a mere evening (hence the title of the track).

music video of the day: "It's All Over Now Baby Blue" by Donovan

Because this scene from Don't Look Back slays me. Donovan is show chill.

music video of the day: "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush

Because she is a beast and this song has been stuck in my head all day.

music video of the day: "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper

Because BFF days spent watching chick flicks and eating candy are so great.

music video of the day: "Christmas II (grinch)" by Grimes & Jay Worthy

Because I just spent the past two hours in a FaceTime argument/tet a tet/couple chat/head bang with my boyfriend about Grimes which ended with us agreeing that we " just want the best for her and for her to be herself". Indeed. Grimes rules. This is fun. I'm excited to hear the new album. Quote from her on the video above below...

Anyway - i like to periodically release songs since my album is taking so long and i make a lot of songs that i wouldn’t put on an album but i nonetheless enjoy so thats what this is.

me and my step bro jay worthy make an annual christmas song with our siblings in order to avoid obligatory dinner. this is NOT a single from the upcoming album, not a serious piece of art in any capacity and not an official grimes release

also —made this song in prob less than 2 hours so please excuse my terrible production, + it is not mixed or mastered.

music video of the day: "Pink Christmas" by Slink

HAPPY HOLIDAZE!

music video of the day: "I'll Be Home For Christmas" by Sufjan Stevens

You can count on me.

music video of the day: "Take Care" by Drake ft. Rihanna

Because today this came on the radio while my sister and I were out Christmas shopping. We stayed in the car & danced even though we had arrived at our destination.
Heck of a jam. RIP Gil Scott-Heron.

music video of the day: "Heavy Metal And Reflective" by Azealia Banks

Because to put it basically she hits way harder than Igloo Australia & deserves that Grammy nom more.

music video of the day: “Controllers” by Cheatahs (Dir. Federico Urdaneta)

So rad and on point and the meaning of life dude.

music video of the day: "Only Child" by Moon King

Because they play the Opera House alongside Elsa and Alvvays tonight. All rad acts. Gonna be a good one. I'd say see you there but it's sold out so hopefully you didn't sleep on it and got your tickets already.

music video of the day: "Hard Candy Christmas" by Dolly Parton

Because my dude got me some Dolly vinyl for Christmas cus  he gets it.
Dolly rules.

music video of the day: "You're Light" by Harrison ft. Maddee

Because the kid plays Studio Bar tonight alongside deebs (check out his Songs4UByMe EP below + download it for free at his website) and Bizzarh (check out below deebs hehe).
So much rad Toronto talent. Heck of a bill. Come hang.

music video of the day: "Birth In Reverse" by St. Vincent

I was lucky enough to catch St. Vincent live three times this year. NXNE in Toronto (she played the shut down streets of Yonge & Dundas Square), Pitchfork Fest in Chicago (in which she smashed her head into a kick drum) and then Pitchfork Paris (I took a photo, see below). Each time Annie Clark has shred me to bits. Each time she gives me chills. She's a rock god and a beast of talent. Her 2014 album is a favourite of the year and now she's nominated for a Grammy. Fingers crossed, she wins. And she should. Obviously.

music video of the day: Teenage Engineering OP-1 Quick Tour

Because gear porn.

music video of the day: "Boys Latin" by Panda Bear

My head is a muddled mess today but this is a nice escape.
Panda Bear Meets The Grim Reaper comes out January 13th in the new year.

music video of the day: "Reality" by Tasseomancy

Saw the Tasseomancy twins around Toronto a bunch this weekend. They had a tea room during Long Winter and made a Timber Timbre  cameo. The also played Henri Fabergé.
They're lovely & talented with the chillest vibe.

music video of the day: "Meet Your God" by OFF!

Fuck. Yes. Bear fights.

music video of the day: "Beat The Drum Slowly" by Timber Timbre

Timber Timbre's latest record Hot Dreams has for sure been a favourite of 2014. Is so dark and sexy/saxy. All kinds of twisted perfection. Tonight marks the middle of a three night stint at Lee's Palace. I'm so excited to slow dance. Might dress like a witch.

music video of the day: "Feel The Lightning" by Dan Deacon

I'm such a fan of Deacon's bizzaro world.
His new album Gliss Riffer comes out on Domino February 24/25, 2015.
